Serving the Community with Young People at its Heart
Serving the Community with Young People at its Heart

Welcome to Branches Young People's Support Service!

Our vision is a thriving community cafe focused on meeting the needs of young people aged 12 - 17 years in Botley, Oxford.  Branches Cafe will be a safe place for young people to socialise, learn skills, and get involved.

Branches Cafe will open to young people on Mon 23 July and Tues 24 July 2018 from 3pm-5pm.  Come down and get your free ice cream! Branches Cafe will open to the wider community on 1st August 2018 at 1st Floor, Elms Court, Chapel Way (above the library).  There will be a soft opening on Mon 30 July and Tues 31 July if you can't wait any longer to come and have a coffee!

The summer programme for young people starts on Wed 1st August and there are lots of fun and interesting things to do.

Branches Young People's Support Service is a Social Enterprise (that is, a business with a social purpose).

Branches Café will be open to the whole community during the day 8am-3pm (last orders at 2.30pm) and will focus on meeting the needs of young people after school and in the evenings.  During the day it will be a friendly and welcoming place for the community and business people to eat, drink, work, or get away from it all.  After school and in the evenings it will be a vibrant place for young people to socialise, chill, participate and learn skills.

Branches Café will have safe adults to support young people, nurture them, appreciate them, and help them develop life skills and employability skills.

You can get involved by becoming a member of the Social Enterprise, or by sending your ideas or suggestions for the Youth Café or activities to

The Unhidden Agenda

Botley is a growing community with massive new housing development and a growing population of young people, yet there doesn't seem to be anywhere for them to go that is just for them.  A real need has been identified to provided a safe and engaging place for our Young People to 'hang-out' and to develop on a personal and social level.

Branches Cafe will provide this space along with committed staff with the skills and experience to identify those young people with particular talents, needs, and vulnerabilities, and to offer opportunities to get involved and contribute.

Branches Young People's Support Service is a Community Interest Company and will generate income from Branches Cafe and other enterprising projects.  Any and all profit after running costs will be reinvested for the benefit of young people.

Branches is immensely thankful for all the support we have been shown by the local community, elected members and our partners including Botley Bridges and Seacourt Hall Trustees.  Branches hugely appreciates start up funding from SOHA, Oxfordshire County Council, Vale of White Horse District Council, Doris Field Charitable Trust, North Hinksey Parish Council, North Hinksey Junior Youth Club, and The Sprout.
